Open Clip Art Library July 14, 2006

In addition to the free Ubuntu font, the free ms TrueType fonts, and other goodies, here’s the ultimate package for everyone who uses OpenOffice, or has had to create a dashing poster/flyer/notice at short notice.
Install openclipart using:
$sudo apt-get install openclipart
Description: The Open Clip Art Library is a collection of 100% license-free, royalty-free, and restriction-free art that you can use for any purpose.
and you will have at your command thousands of clipart, in the svg and png format, ready for use in the various office applications and wherever else you want. See below for a small selection of the included art. For a more comprehensive look, go to openclipart.org. The collection includes most of the art on the website.
Thank you very much, Sam
For some reason the Ubuntu packages have overlooked the Xfig2sml stencils from:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/xfig2sml/
The download for OO is:
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/xfig2sml/OOo_xfig_gallery.zip?download
As I noted about the “openclipart” package (and its dependencies) on my Ubuntu page http://members.shaw.ca/Limulus/ubuntu.html
“warning: its ~200 MB download and expands to ~400 MB when installed!”
Just to warn people on dial-up 🙂
I tried going to the Open Clip Art web site and got the following message:
“You’ve come to gabe.freedesktop.org. Maybe you were looking for http://www.freedesktop.org. If this is the case, please ask whoever sent you here to update their URLs.”
Any idea where it moved to?
Harry, I have no clue. This seems to have been the case for a few days now – there was a message earlier that said many of the freedesktop wikis are down, and that they will be restored soon
I should expect the problem to be fixed soon.
Sorry im a newbie, how can i use it, i have downloaded it but i can not where it is or how can i view the clip arts…
hope you can give me a tutorial on this
Sigh, what the hell is the point having an “open source” project you can’t even download.
God this is so lame. I searched pretty much the WHOLE entire internet and there’s NOT (1) single mirror or link for this freaking pack.
I guess the site owner (OCAL) isn’t intelligent enough to understand what a “mirror” is.
Now I don’t give a shit about this pack, since I found something else.
So much for “open source” when you can’t even find it. Thanks for nothing.
Mirror for anyone looking. You’re welcome for the help, since I’m the only one to do so.

Wow joe bob, such an eloquant rant about the owner not being intelligent enough to understand what a mirror is…I guess YOU don’t either since when clicking on your link above, it takes you to an ERROR page.
Before you rant and bitchslap someone, perhaps you should make sure you have your code correct!
I’ve downloaded the package, but now can’t find where it is. 🙂
I usually look for at http://www.gnome-look.org/ for all Ubuntu stuff. Thank’s for info sharing too 😉
thanks for nice doc and nice foto… thanks admin

I was suggested this web site by my cousin. I’m not sure whether this post is written by him as no one else know such detailed about my problem. You’re wonderful!
Thanks!
