Please report this bug against the ‘update-manager’ package and include the following error message:

‘E:Type ‘http://archive.canonical.com/ubuntu’ is not known on line 49 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list, E:The list of sources could not be read.’

I found one strange issue with ubuntu, do you know if its a bug or as designed?
If I have two nameservers in my resolv.conf, ubuntu only checks the first (and receives a ‘not found’ reply from there) and never goes to the next two nameservers. This behaviour is very different from windows or other linux systems.
