I ran into that video-posting librarian again July 25, 2007

You guys must remember Jessamyn, the librarian who posted a video about installing Ubuntu at, where else, the library.
Well, by some strange coincidence, which cannot be explained rationally, I ran into her again on the tubes. I followed the user profile link at this comment on Ask MetaFilter to end up at her profile page.
Of the billions of unknown users of the internet, we are two.
What are the chances?, I ask you!! The mind blows. 
In other news, there is no news – I’m on the slow track to the Ph.D.
It’s actually no surprise. She’s everywhere. I think half my friends know her.
The small worlds theory states that as the population increases the degrees of separation between nodes within the society decrease. It may sound counter intuitive but as the world gets bigger, it really gets smaller
I have talked to Jessamyn before, in totally different contexts.
I just want to say “Welcome back!” to carthik. I’m glad to see that RSI hasn’t silenced the blog forever.
That original video was in a MeFi post originally, I believe. That might cut down the degrees.

If your system fails to start due to an error related to lost HAL.DLL, invalid Boot.ini or any other important system boot files you can repair this by using the XP installation CD.
