Free “Powered by Ubuntu” Stickers August 12, 2006

You can get four free “powered by Ubuntu” stickers just like the one shown below at the expense of a self-addressed stamped envelope.

This comes to you courtesy of the folks at System76.

[...] Free “Powered by Ubuntu” Stickers [...]
I’ve been a Mac user for years and those machines are shipped without stickers so I’m not used to that phenomena. The first things I do when I get a PC: get rid of Windows, install Ubuntu and remove those stickers, any stickers …
you can also buy stickers here: http://shop.frogfoot.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=103&products_id=306
But nothing beats free stickers
You have to love ubuntu, even if you hate it ::grin::
… did someone say free?
[...] system76, which I had previously not heard of. is giving away “powered by ubuntu linux” stickers. I have added them to my list of companies that sell Laptops with Linux. Excellent! [...]

I need mor information!
I surfed the net and tried to get more information about ubuntu but to my dismay i only got a few notes about it. I know it’s an operating system device and surely a great deal if installed on PCs. But what more can it do? The site could at least expound further about it.
Me, I mean, you
AFAIK this is a personal blog so if you are looking for info about Ubuntu go to http://www.ubuntu.com
I live in Italy and System76 is in USA.
I can only send self addressed stamped envelope with italian stamps.
Can stikers arrive to me?
I’m on Great Britain – same question as Davide.
I’m italian too… same problem as above… but reasoning over it I suppose that it won’t work from abroad… The letter would arrive to the states but after that? If we send a self-addressed envelope with locale stamps that can’t be sent back… We should send an envelope with USA stamps for receiving it back.
Correct me if I’m wrong but I think we should deal with this problem
i am italian too.
what do you think if the system76 send some stickers to an “agent” in Itlay (or in Great Britain for Ben Gooder) and then do the same procedure with local stamps. i mean, sending to the “agent” envelope with local stamps.
but now the problem is, how to send the sticker for the first time to the “agent”, as it returns the same problem???
any suggetions???
Actually (and obvsiously if you’re not from USA) you can BUY ubuntu stickers at http://linux-schlepptops.de/index.php?cPath=22
at 4.90€ per 10 stickers. They’re not free but it looks like the only sure chance for people from abroad, at least Italy.
— excuse me if i’m going to speak italian but this message is directed to my two italian “colleagues” —
1) non so se spediscono in Italia, ad ogni modo ho appena mandato una mail a sti taglieggiatori, quindi lo sparò a breve;
A cool sticker would be a tiny flat-black one with a white Ubuntu logo designed to be slapped right on top of that silly Windows key.
Hi all!
excuse me but i am going to use Italian as the message is direct to the italian user daniele.
please don’t mind.
–
ciao daniele!
comunque, fammi sapere cosa decidi…
grazie.
ciao ARIF, danyver@libero.it, write me!!
Isn’t that ubuntu sticker cute. I mean, I really don’t know if I Iove Ubuntu. But I sure like the sticker. It is simple and that’s how it makes it so nice. Don’t you think?
Hey all – if you didn’t know, System76 are also giving away free stickers to International people now! Sorry, can’t remember the site though – I assume its the same as the other stickers
[...] Ditto what gberardi said! Especially considering Ubuntu. I have no idea how complicated other Linux systems are, but I loooove Ubuntu. And my only suggestion would be to give away zillions of those nifty "Powered by Ubuntu" stickers. After going through hell putting Xubuntu on an old laptop with no onboard CD or floppy drives or bootable USB support, I peeled that "Designed for Windows" sticker right off and replaced it with my Ubuntu sticker. Hell yeah! __________________ ~ Elaine. [...]

Sometimes, giving away free stickers can get you a $500 sale.
I hadn’t heard of system76 before coming across a post at the Ubuntu Blog back in August. It mentioned free (as in free beer!) stickers, courtesy of the folks at system76. Well, act…
I wonder if those outside the US can go to usps.com and buy an American stamp, just a thought.
Cool. I’ve been using Linux for a year. Though not Ubuntu. I started using Ubuntu last month and I think its way better than others. But Fedora 5 is faster. Anyway, I won’t be changing over to anything else. So, I should get those stickers !!
Sreejith (and anyone else using Linux that isn’t Ubuntu and wanting stickers):
If you’d like some stickers, you can download the stickerbook (PDF) at this link http://raro.oreto.inf-cr.uclm.es/apps/stickers/
You’ll have to print them out on sticker paper yourself but there are lots of stickers there and they’re very nice. Not limited to “powered by” style stickers, and many OSs as well as other software are included.
Where would I have to send the self-addressed stamped envelope to receive the ubuntu sticker?
Thanks
